Downgrading your plan

Downgrading your plan

When moving to a lower plan, the change takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle. You can continue using the current plan until the end of the current period.

How to downgrade

Paid plan → lower paid plan (e.g. Max → Plus)

  1. Open Plan / Billing in the dashboard.
  2. Click "Downgrade" on the target plan's card.
  3. Review the confirmation dialog and confirm the change.
  4. The plan card shows "Scheduled", indicating the switch is queued for the next renewal.

Paid plan → Free plan

  1. On Plan / Billing, click "Downgrade" on the Free plan card.
  2. You'll be redirected to the Stripe Customer Portal.
  3. Follow the instructions in the portal to cancel your subscription.
  4. You can continue using the paid plan until the end of the current period. After that, your account switches to Free.

Downgrading to Free is handled the same way as cancelling the subscription via Stripe Portal. See Cancelling your subscription for details.

When the change takes effect

Downgrades apply at the start of the next billing cycle. Until the current plan's renewal date, your current plan stays active.

  • If you're unsure of your renewal date, check the "Renews on …" or "Scheduled to change to … on …" line on Plan / Billing.

About refunds

Downgrades do not issue prorated refunds. You keep using your current paid plan until the period ends, and the plan and price switch at the next renewal.

How credits are handled

  • Credits already granted under the current plan remain usable until the end of the period.
  • On the next renewal, the new plan's credits are granted (no roll-over).

Cancelling a scheduled downgrade

You can cancel a scheduled downgrade any time before it takes effect.

  1. Open Plan / Billing.
  2. Click the "Cancel" button below the scheduled plan's card.
  3. The schedule is removed and your current plan continues.

Notes

  • While a downgrade is scheduled, you can still upgrade. Upgrading automatically clears the pending downgrade.
  • If you're downgrading from Team and your current member count exceeds the new plan's limit, the downgrade may not be available. Please review your member list first.

Troubleshooting

  • The "Downgrade" button isn't visible — It only appears on plans below your current one. If you're already on Free, or if the target is the same price tier, the button won't appear.
  • "Scheduled" label doesn't clear — If the plan still shows as scheduled after the renewal date, reload the dashboard.
